Shepway Volunteers' Thank You Party
Shepway Volunteer Centre held its annual Volunteers' Thank You party just before Christmas in the Church hall beside the Centre office.
Shepway VC's Manager, Janet Johnson, says:
"The morning was a great success with almost 100 people attending to enjoy the lovely buffet and plenty of social chit-chat. There were also some excellent prizes in the raffle including a Tesco Gift Card, a Sea France channel crossing, and an M and S voucher for £25, as well as some lovely gift sets donated by Boots.
One of the best things about this annual get-together is the opportunity it gives for the staff to chat with all the volunteers. This is usually an impossibility during the normal working week when everyone is so busy in the office. All in all a really good event.
This was the Centre's way of thanking all the Volunteers who do such a terrific job all year in their roles as Drivers, Befrienders, Gardeners, and office helpers. None of the services could run without them and they are appreciated so much not only by the clients but also by the six paid staff."
